A most wanted thief, who was involved in multiple cases, was booked by the Rajaji Nagar police. The accused has been identified as Rafiq (29), who hails from Tumakuru. He took to stealing to lead a luxurious life.
Rafiq was released from jail only last month. He used to target locked houses and shops. The police have seized 409 gm of gold worth Rs 22 lakh, 425 gm of silver and 189 gm of fake gold from him. He was involved in more than 20 cases across the city.
A detailed investigation revealed that Rafiq was involved in 20 theft cases in various stations including Girinagar, Kabban Park, KR Puram, Chandra Layout, Amrithalli, Banashankari and Tipaturu, Chitradurga, Chikkamagaluru, Mandya in Bengaluru.
