Supreme Court cancels the bail to 8 activists of PFI

New Delhi – The Supreme Court cancelled the bail to 8 activists of the banned Jihadi terror outfit Popular Front of India (PFI). All of them were granted bail by the Madras High Court. The Supreme Court said, national security is always of utmost importance. These accused who have been jailed for serious crimes, spent only one-and-a-half year in jail, so, it will not be appropriate to release them.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had challenged the bail granted to the activists. The Apex Court said the prima facie case is proved based on material placed before the Court by NIA.

The NIA told the Court that the photographs of RSS Leaders, marked as targets, were found with the accused. Also, as per the PFI vision, they aim at establishing Islamic State in India by 2047.
