Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Great Pyramid of Giza during his maiden State visit to Egypt. His visit to the African country is the first by an Indian Prime Minister since 1997.
PM Modi was seen seeking details about the Great Pyramid of Giza, which is the largest Egyptian pyramid and served as the tomb of pharaoh Khufu, who ruled under the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom.
Built in the early 26th century BC, over a period of about 27 years, the pyramid is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only wonder that has remained largely intact.
PM Modi arrived in Cairo on Saturday on his first State visit to Egypt after wrapping up his engagements in the US, which was also his maiden State visit. He was received by his Egyptian counterpart, Mostafa Madbouly. The Prime Minister’s two-day State visit to Egypt is at the invitation of President Sisi.
