In a heartwarming gesture of community service, Nita and Mukesh Ambani organized a mass wedding for over 50 underprivileged couples from Maharashtra’s Palghar on July 2. The event, held at Reliance Corporate Park in Thane, saw the attendance of around 800 family members of the couples.
The celebration comes ahead of their youngest son Anant Ambani’s wedding to Radhika Merchant, scheduled for July 12 in Mumbai. The Ambani family, including Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta, and Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal, graced the occasion with their presence.
Each couple received gold ornaments, such as mangalsutra, wedding rings, and nose rings, along with silver ornaments like toe rings and anklets. Additionally, each bride was given a cheque of Rs 1.01 lakh as ‘streedhan.’
The couples were also provided with groceries and household items sufficient for a year, including 36 essential items, utensils, appliances like a gas stove, mixer, and fan, as well as a mattress and pillows.
A grand dinner followed the ceremony, where guests enjoyed the traditional Tarpa dance performed by the Warli Tribe, enriching the evening with cultural vibrancy.
