Controversy has ignited within the National Congress party. This comes after MP Karti Chidambaram, the son of senior Congress leader P Chidambaram, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Now, a resolution was presented during the Congress party meeting, seeking to deny Karti Chidambaram a seat in the election from the Congress party. The resolution was tabled in a meeting attended by Karti Chidambaram’s father, Chidambaram.
Former Union Minister EM Sudarsana Natchiappan presented the resolution during the meeting. Reports indicate that the resolution was introduced in response to strong demands from some leaders, even though it was not on the agenda.
In 2019, Sudarsana Natchiappan vehemently opposed granting seat to Karti Chidambaram to contest in election.
The disciplinary notice was issued to Karti Chidambaram in connection with an interview with a Tamil TV channel. In the interview, Karti Chidambaram stated that no Congress leader, including Rahul Gandhi, could match Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following this statement, Karti Chidambaram faced criticism from Congress party leaders.
The Congress party’s disciplinary panel chief, KR Ramasamy, issued a show-cause notice to Karti Chidambaram.
