These 3 Succulent Plants Give Oxygen At Night

Some plants, such as certain succulents and certain types of orchids, use a different mechanism called crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM) to perform photosynthesis.

These plants open their stomata (tiny openings on the surface of leaves) during the night to take in carbon dioxide and minimize water loss during the hot daytime.

As a result, they release a small amount of oxygen during the night. However, the oxygen released is much less compared to the amount released during daylight photosynthesis.

  1. Snake Plant
Snake plants are popular indoor plants that are known for their ability to purify the air and release oxygen at night.
  1. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is a succulent plant that releases oxygen at night and also helps to improve indoor air quality.
  1. Pothos

Pothos is a popular trailing houseplant that is known for its ability to release oxygen at night.
