India’s shooting sensation Manu Bhaker have been in the headlines right from the start of the Paris Olympics, which concluded on August 11. She opened India’s account in the Paris Games, winning a bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event. Later, scripted history by winning a second medal, this time in the 10m air pistol mixed event with Sarabjoth Singh.
After the events were done, a video of Manu and her mother interacting with Neeraj Chopra started doing rounds on social media, with many even prompting a link-up between the two decorated athletes. However, Manu and Neeraj’s families were quick to shut the wedding speculations, a smart move to avoid any unnecessary attention.
Now in an interaction with media, (News18) India’s shooting sensation was asked about the video, and Manu gave a very straightforward response. “There is a video which is going viral, where your mom can be seen talking to Neeraj Chopra. Too many rumours are circulating. What is your take on this?” the anchor asks Manu.
“I don’t know much about it. I was not there when this happened. But since 2018 we have been meeting on the sidelines of events. We don’t have that much interaction otherwise. During events we talk a little. But there is no truth to the rumours that is going around,” she said in response.
