Dharwad: Man Killed His Sister-in-law Who Did Not Agree To Continue The Illicit Relationship

Dharwad: The body of a missing woman was found in Govanakoppa. The police suspected that some miscreants might have committed the murder. The police intensified the investigation and arrested the accused. The arrested accused has been identified as Rakesh. 45-year-old Roopa Savadatti is a woman who died.

A man has been arrested by police for allegedly killing his sister-in-law. On June 8, 45-year-old Roopa Savadatti went missing from Kondawada Oni. Rupal’s husband Lakshman Savadatti filed a missing complaint at Dharwad Rural Police Station.

The accused Rakesh Hongal too joined his brother in searching for Roopa. The next day, Roopa was found dead at a bush in Govanakoppa. Police got suspicious of Rakesh as he was roaming around the murder spot. On June 11, the police detained and questioned him after which he accepted his crime.

According to police, Rakesh had an affair with his brother’s wife Roopa for the past few years. For the past few months, he had started avoiding Roopa which had irked her and raised objections. And brutelly killed her.

On June 8, Rakesh took his sister-in-law on Govanakoppa Road and bludgeoned her to death with a stone and returned home without any suspicion. The police have arrested Rakesh and are in the process of producing him before the court.
