K Annamalai files Lok Sabha nomination in Coimbatore constituency

Coimbatore: Former IPS officer, Tamil Nadu state BJP President K Annamalai has filed his nomination for the April 19 Lok Sabha election in Tamil Nadu.

Annamalai, contesting from the Coimbatore constituency, submitted his nomination to the Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati.

Annamalai, a former Karnataka cadre IPS officer, resigned from the service in 2019 and officially joined the BJP in 2020. In 2021, at the age of 37, he was appointed as the BJP’s Tamil Nadu state President, becoming the youngest person to hold this position.

He submitted his nomination after offering prayers at the Arulmigu Koniamman Temple and participating in a roadshow alongside BJP Mahila Morcha Chief and Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Sreenivasan, BJP Coimbatore District General Secretary J Ramesh, and several other BJP members.
