A very rare snake was found in Puttur of Dakshina Kannada district. This rare, harmless, non-venomous Forsten’s cat snake was found at the home of Ravikrishna Kallaje of Balnad.
A snake with yellow and brown stripes. Snake was rescued by Tejas Bannur, a zoologist from Puttur and left in a remote forest.

It is usually called as cat’s eye snake (bekku kannina havu in kannada) because of its luster like a cat’s eye.
