A yellow alert signifies an anticipated heavy rainfall ranging between 64.5 to 115.5 millimeters. IMD warned that heavy rain is expected to be accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
IMD said that as a consequence of this system, a low-pressure area is expected to form over the southeast and adjoining east-central Arabian Sea by October 17. The cyclonic circulation will likely intensify in the subsequent 48 hours and is projected to move west-northwestward.
