Three New Judges Take Oath, Supreme Court Back To Its Full Strength Of 34 Judges

New Delhi: High Court Chief Justices Satish Chandra Sharma, Augustine George Masih and Sandeep Mehra took oath as Supreme Court Justices on Thursday, Nov 9.

The total number of justices of the Supreme Court is 34. With the assumption of power by these three, the court will be able to function at full capacity.

Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachood, justices and lawyers were present on this occasion.

Sathish chandra Sharma was the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. Masih was the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court and Mehra was the Chief Justice of the Guwahati High Court.

In the first week of this month, the collegium had recommended the central government to appoint these three as judges of the Supreme Court.
