16-year-old girl gang-raped by 3 men inside the Truck – Two nabbed

Uttarakhand: A 16-year-old girl was abducted and gang-raped by three men inside the truck and left her on the road after threatening her not to tell anyone about the incident. Cruel incident happened in Champawat district’s Amori on Tuesday. Two men – aged 20 and 26 – were nabbed after villagers chased them while the third accused escaped.

Pratap Singh Negi, SHO, Champawat police station, said one of the accused is a truck driver and he was coming to the district with his two friends in the vehicle when they saw the girl and abducted her.

After rape left her on the road. Some villagers helped the girl after they saw her on the road. They chased nearly 30 KM, after the truck and handed the two accused to the police, according to the SHO.

Two accused identified as Sanjay Bhatt and Raveesh Bhatt, Yogesh Twal absconded.

An FIR was filed on Wednesday based on a complaint by the girl’s brother and the three accused were charged under BNS section 137 (kidnapping), 123 (causing hurt by means of poison), 142 (wrongful confinement), 70 (gang rape), 74 (assault or criminal force on woman to outrage her modesty) and the Pocso Act. The two arrested were sent to judicial custody for 14 days by court.
