UAE welcomes NAMO; Count down to Historic moment – inaugurating a grand Hindu temple tomorrow

It will be a historic day in the annals of UAE history as Indian PMO NaMo will inaugurate the very first Hindu temple on February 14.

He is on a two-day visit to the nation, for this purpose. And even as Modi arrived, a strong Indian diaspora of 65000 welcomed him. Interestingly, for this purpose the local authorities have even arranged free bus services for the Indian diaspora to make use of.

Interestingly, this is the first traditional Hindu stone temple in the Middle East. Though there are a few temples, they resemble villas, not a temple in the true sense.

Perhaps, you will be pleasantly surprised to know that the new Hindu Mandir, sits on top of a mound which is to the northeast of Abu Dhabi, UAE’s capital. It is indeed a great moment for the country as it is hailed as a new addition to the country’s strong history in cultural harmony.

It is for this purpose that Modi wrote in August 2015 thus: “I am very thankful to the UAE Govt for their decision to allot land in order to build a Temple in Abu Dhabi. This is a great step.”

The UAE has granted land for the temple in two installments, 13.5 acres each for the temple, thus totalling it to 27 acres.
