Malappuram: An FIR filled against the Govt Taluk Hospital in Wandoor, alleging that a one-and-a-half-year-old baby received the wrong medicine. Relatives accused the nurse on duty of changing the medicine for the child.
The incident occurred on Dec. 2nd morning when the child, suffering from shortness of breath and a cough, was brought to the Government Taluk Hospital in Wandoor.
Instead of giving the prescribed medicine for coughing, the nurse gave a different medicine to the child. After the medicine entered the body, the baby became weak. The child was immediately shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital in Manjeri.
The doctors said that the child is out of danger. The hospital authorities have assured a thorough investigation into the incident and will take appropriate action upon receiving the complaint.
