Kerala Man Kills Ex-Partner’s Brother, Dies by Suicide

A 23-year-old man, Thejas Raj, allegedly murdered his estranged partner’s brother, Febin George Gomez, 21, in Kerala’s Kollam city. The incident occurred on Monday evening at the woman’s house in the Uliyakovi area.

Raj had been unhappy with his ex-partner’s family since she broke off their relationship and her family fixed her marriage with another man. He had been holding a grudge against them, according to Febin’s mother.

At around 7 pm, Raj went to the woman’s house and allegedly stabbed Febin to death. Febin’s father, George, was also injured in the attack. Raj then drove his car for around 3 km, stopped near railway tracks, and took his own life.

Police found bottles of petrol in Raj’s car. He was the son of a police sub-inspector and had been classmates with Febin’s sister. The two had been in a relationship, but it ended after the woman got a job and Raj failed to clear a physical test for a police constable job.

Febin’s mother alleged that Raj came to their home with the intention of killing both her and her son. CCTV footage showed Febin running out of the house after being stabbed and collapsing on the road.

Febin, a college student, worked part-time as a delivery man. His father, George, works as a driver at a hospital in Kollam and is now said to be out of danger.

The police are investigating the incident, which has sent shockwaves through the community.
