In a shocking incident, a husband committed suicide after hacking his wife to death. The incident took place in Thalore in Puthukkad, Thrissur.
Cheruvathur native Joju (50) hanged himself at his home after murdering his wife Linju (36). The incident took place at around 3 pm on Tuesday. It is said that Joju murdered Linju due to suspicion. It was Joju’s second marriage and Linju’s third marriage.
Locals informed the police after hearing Linju’s loud cries. Although the Puthukkad police soon rushed to the spot, both Joju and Linju were found dead. The police said that the two used to constantly quarrel with each other and had even complained to the police. The officials had attempted to reconcile them through counselling.
No one else was at home at the time of the incident. Both Joju and Linju have children from previous marriages. Joju’s child from his first marriage lives with his first wife. Linju has two children who were living with them. Linju, a native of Idukki, had married Joju about one and a half years ago.
The police reached the spot and completed the inquest proceedings. They also recorded statements of relatives and neighbors.
