Former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri’s grandson joins BJP

Lucknow: Vibhakar Shastri, the grandson of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday. He joined the party in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak. Shastri had earlier resigned from the primary membership of the Congress party ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

After joining the BJP, Vibhakar thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UP CM Yogi Adityanath and other leaders of the party for providing him a chance to connect with Lal Bahadur Shastri’s vision of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’.

He said that he thought under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, he would be able to serve the country by further strengthening Lal Bahadur Shastri’s vision of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’. He added that they also wanted that under the leadership of PM Modi, they would become a developed nation and the largest economy in the world.
