A hit-and-run incident took place near the Shiradi Ghat on the Mangaluru-Bangalore National Highway 75 near the Kempu Hole River, in which two people died through Orissa. The deceased have been identified as Amulya Perida (23) and Santhirnish Juti (27) from Orissa.
The mishap took place in the wee hours of Wednesday near the Kempu hole River on top of Shiradi Ghat Gadi Temple.
A mini lorry carrying cargo from Hassan to Mangalore was hit by a vehicle and ran away. Due to this accident two people died on the spot as they got stuck in the mini lorry which was completely destroyed. After the accident, the hit vehicle ran away without stopping, Sakaleshpur rural police visited the scene and registered a case.
